PRINTS & REPRODUCTIONS

In 1979, Michael Whelan’s wife Audrey Price started Glass Onion Graphics and has been steadily publishing Whelan prints since then. Over the years there have been other publishers who have produced Michael’s prints, books, calendars, etc., but Glass Onion is still his primary publisher.

If you’re interested in artwork that you don’t see listed, please contact us. We do evaluate our catalog from time to time, and fan interest is the best way to determine what artwork to offer when we release new prints.

Please note, major paintings usually aren’t listed for sale in our shop. Michael displays prominent works at the finest art galleries around the world, but you can also contact us directly for any original art inquiries.

If you’re interested in purchasing original art you don’t see listed, whether it’s something here or on the website, please contact me (webmaster AT michaelwhelan DOT com). I assist Michael and Audrey with art sales and will be glad to check on availability of whatever you might be looking for.

I have a working inventory of originals. Over the past year, I’ve been updating our website galleries to indicate which paintings are still in Michael’s possession. Look for the “original available” link on the painting detail pages in our galleries. Available doesn’t necessarily mean for sale, but that’s something we can check for you.

We add new prints as well as original artwork to the shop on a semi-regular basis. I typically post about upcoming offerings here on Tumblr, but whenever new art is added to the shop, we send out an email newsletter to let fans know.

COMMISSIONS

Michael is generally not available for commissions. His schedule is typically filled with illustration projects for publishers. When he’s not on assignment, he devotes his time to his gallery work. See the FAQ on our website for more details.
