asked:
When reading the dark tower series did you continue to the end?

Michael, of course, illustrated the first and last book in the series, and it’s well documented what a fan he is of The Dark Tower as a whole.

That’s why he returned to illustrate the artist edition of THE LITTLE SISTERS OF ELURIA published by Donald Grant, which includes the updated text of THE GUNSLINGER along with the short story that ran in the original LEGENDS anthology.

THE WIND THROUGH THE KEYHOLE—the last Dark Tower book published—came out more recently, and I know how much Michael enjoyed it because I was reading that little gem a few years back when I visited him.

Coincidentally, when I was out there in 1997 after his first show at Tree’s Place Gallery, he’d just received a copy of WIZARD AND GLASS from Donald Grant.  I remember the gleam in his eye as he flipped through the pages admiring Dave McKean’s illustrations.

We talk about the series a lot!
