GUILLERMO’S ZOMBIE by Michael Whelan

I got to meet Guillermo del Toro at a Horror convention in NYC, where he showed up to promote the imminent release of his film, HELLBOY II. He gave me a copy of his novel THE STRAIN. When I asked him to sign it for me, he graciously agreed. To my delight he included a cartoon self portrait sketched under his signature. As a “thank you’ I sent him this oil sketch of a zombie…with a little self portrait of my own added [in the hand of the monster].
