What bothers me is that if Shallan is the focus of the novel, why is she NOT on the cover. Sure, it’s nice that she’s in the end papers, but really, why not the cover? I find the decision by Tor and their art director to be a bit insulting.
We’ve heard from a lot of fans (including my wife) about how much they love the Shallan painting and would have preferred to see it on the cover. Perhaps with enough feedback TOR might release multiple covers on the paperbacks.
