Without a doubt, this blog has been a bright spot in 2014 for all of us here. Late in the year, Tumblr added us to their artist spotlight and we watched our follower count soar. What a pleasure it has been to share Michael’s art with you!
We have exciting plans for the new year, including a spotlight on new gallery works as well as a couple of projects we hope you’ll join us in supporting.
Over the holidays, we announced that Michael will be illustrating the covers for The Last King of Osten Ard by Tad Williams. While the first of that trilogy likely won’t be released until 2016, we hope you’re as thrilled about those books as we are.
Believe it or not, Tad isn’t the only New York Times bestselling author from DAW Books lined up for a Michael Whelan cover. There’s another mammoth announcement on that front. If only he’d finish book 3 so we could plot it on the calendar…
