Gallery Update on Michael Whelan.com

We’ve just updated our gallery format on The Art of Michael Whelan. This is the biggest improvement in site functionality since we relaunched the website in 2012.

New features include filterable gallery grids so you can limit the images displayed by category/genre and sort by title or date.

Each image now has two links, the first to a lightbox (popup image that appears on the page) and the second to a gallery detail page with expanded content.

As you can see from the detail page for IN DAI CHIKIZA included here, this is a significant expansion of content. Additions include an associated images gallery (book covers, preliminary, concepts, etc), a blurb about the book, and a related image slideshow.

We’ll be filling in the detail pages with more concepts and sketches over the coming weeks. The rest of the content is ready for your consumption.
